SMT
This field should be filled with the number of SMT parts that will be on the board. SMT is purposely left a little generic but is generally defined as discrete parts 0402 or larger. IC’s that have greater then a 20 mil pitch are also part of this category. Most surface mount diodes will fit this category as will most surface mount inductors.
Fine Pitch
The number of IC’s that have a Pitch (distance between lead centers) of less then 20 mils belong in this category. There may be other types of components that fall into this category because of close lead spacing.
Thru-Hole
These components are on one side of the board but their leads go through holes in the board to the second side. Many connectors fall into this category. When counting the number of thru-hole connecters, the number of pins is not a factor.
BGA/QFN/LEADLESS
Components in this category have connections beneath the component or no leads. Enter the number of components that fit this description.
